Job Context
LIFE Quake is an ambitious £5m project funded by the EU LIFE programme, Welsh Government and a number of partners to transform the condition of Transition Mire and Quaking bogs and their associated species, most notably the threatened Marsh Fritillary Butterfly. This rare and much reduced habitat is found in a number of places in Wales, with the project focusing on sites in Pembrokeshire, Mid-Wales, Eifionydd and most notably Crymlyn Bog, near Swansea
As a member of the LIFE Quake project team, you will develop and deliver the ambitious programme of practical site restoration, monitoring and stakeholder engagement work on 3 of the 6 Transition Mire and Quaking bogs SAC sites that are part of the project. You will draw up specifications for practical works and supervise contractors to deliver the ambitious programme.
Key partners in the project are the National Trust, Pembrokeshire Coast and Snowdonia National Park Authorities. The post holder will be working closely with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority on the 3 SAC sites in Pembrokeshire.

Role Description |
|
Job Purpose: |
As a member of the LIFE Quake project team, you will deliver the ambitious 5-year programme of practical site restoration and monitoring and stakeholder engagement work planned for 6 Transition Mire and Quaking bogs Special Area of Conservation (SACs) in Wales. Together with other project team members, you will support the Project Manager in ensuring delivery of the project objectives and targets and in reporting progress according to agreed milestones. You will ensure good governance of the project, including strict adherence to NRW’s procurement and wellbeing, health and safety practices. |
