Welcome to the South West Wales Area Statement. South West Wales covers the local authorities of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire and represents 22% of the population and 23% of the country’s landmass.

Mid Wales is an area covering about a third of Wales with a small population living in a number of small towns and rural agricultural communities, based in the local authorities of Ceredigion and Powys. The area has many different landscapes including the uplands of the Cambrian Mountains and the coastline of Cardigan Bay.

This statement sets out the functions carried out by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) that are within its public task.
